“WORKBOX” BISCUIT TIN
WITH SEWING ITEMS
Lovely old biscuit tin that was made to be used as a sewing workbox after the biscuits had been eaten.
Picture on the top is made to look like a piece of embroidery with a basket of flowers which look to be Anemones and the word “Workbox”. Inside there is a shelf for needles and tape measures.
I have filled it with vintage sewing items that include a wooden darning mushroom, vintage cottons, a handmade leather needle case full of pins and needles, a bag or assorted vintage buttons, packet of hooks and eyes, tape measure, buttons on cards, two stocking holders and an old earring finding.
The tin measures 8 ¼” x 6” x 2 ¾” deep. It is in nice condition with very little damage to the paint, there are a few scratches and dents and dings but these are to be expected on an item of this age. Lid closes nicely and fits tightly. There is no makers name on the tin so am unable to tell you who the tin was made for
Just the thing to keep your sewing items in.
