Wonderful old dressmaking book published by McCalls in 1928 covering all aspects of dressmaking for women of all abilities from those just starting to those with more experience.

Covering – patterns and materials, cutting and basting garments, fitting, stitches, seams, skirts, hems, openings, collars sleeves and much more.  The book is full of great step by step illustrations together with brilliant deco style women.

Written by Laura I Baldt, she was the Assistant Professor of Household Arts at Columbia University in America

This is in absolutely fabulous condition, the cover looks very contemporary with a gold background and coloured squares and it was not until I opened the book that I realised how old it was.

If you are interested in dressmaking or fashion this book is a must.
