PIERROT & PIERETTE ART DECO PICTURE – YELLOW & BLUE

This picture is one of a pair and they are both truly exquisite.  The picture is very art deco with Pierrot singing to Pierrette as she sits under a tree looking at a bird that is sitting on a branch beside her.  

The predominant colours in this picture are yellow and orange with a  blue background and has black art deco stylised tree.  It has gold highlights around her dress ,on the stones and in the sky.

The pictures are very delicately detailed – I have not taken them fully apart but think they might be book plates.  Picture has been signed in the corner but I am unable to make it out properly - I think it is Lajour Millar.  I would say these have been recently reframed as the frames appear modern to me – so saying the hooks on the back together with the twine look old.

Picture measures 5” x 9” including frame which is dark gold with light gold detail.
